S’han preguntat sí en els espais i edificis públics es pot anar amb la cara tapada o descoberta. Ens han repetit el discurs del estat laic on la religió cal reduir-la a l’àmbit privat. Perfecte.
Cal, però, que només els cristians hagin de limitar a casa seva l’expressió de la seva religiositat mentre que els seguidors de l’Islam més ortodox els hem de permetre que vagin amb una reixeta de roba amagant la fesomia perquè estan més a prop del seu Déu?.
Posem un altre exemple habitual: als menjadors escolars cal preparar dinars en funció de la religiositat de cada alumne? En cas que hi hagi porc en un menú, cal canviar-lo per peix?
Sé que es fàcil en aquests casos fer demagògia i incitar debats desde les entranyes, sense gaire racionalitat. Però no és una qüestió fàcil. Son maneres d’entendre el món diferent. I caldrà serenitat per anar trampejant la situació. Això sí, sense perdre la identitat pròpia i les arrels de la nostra mil·lenària història.
